Whole Home Heat Loss Heat Gain Calculation - Virtual 25/26
Discover a simpler way to model homes, calculate heat loads with confidence, and complete retrofit projects that perform better and qualify for rebates. This hybrid course combines self-paced online learning and hands-on, instructor-led instruction to teach participants how to accurately perform whole home heat loss and gain calculations, primarily for the retrofit market. Based on the principles of CSA F280, this program focuses on real-world applications of residential load calculations using two powerful digital tools: Stride, a mobile LIDAR scanning app that captures a home’s geometry and layout in minutes. Studio, a 3D modeling and reporting platform that allows users to visualize, edit, and export accurate whole home heat loss and gain reports. Together, these tools streamline the calculation process from site data collection to professional-grade reporting, helping you improve accuracy, efficiency, and customer confidence. The course includes a mandatory 1-hour self-paced module introducing the fundamentals of heat loss and gain, followed by 1.5 days of in-person training featuring live demonstrations, group problem-solving, and software-based exercises. Participants will also complete a final exam to demonstrate their competency. As part of the course, graduates will receive five (5) free Stride scans to apply their learning directly in the field after completion — a valuable opportunity to practice and enhance their new skills.
