As of January 1, 2025, Ontario has harmonized its Building Code with the National Building Code 2020 (NBC 2020), incorporating specific amendments tailored to Ontario's requirements. This change introduces significant updates to Section 9.32 of the Ontario Building Code (OBC), which governs ventilation design requirements for residential buildings.
The transition to the updated OBC 2024 has notable implications for HVAC designers, building officials, and industry professionals, as they must familiarize themselves with the new standards and adapt their designs and practices accordingly. The changes affect several key areas and as such, you must update your learning to ensure your HRAI Certification remains valid.
This online, self-paced course will provide a comprehensive comparison between the previous OBC version and the new OBC 2024 to help you identify and understand the specific changes. This course is invaluable for those seeking to stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure that their designs and projects remain compliant with Ontario’s updated building standards. Upon completion of the final exam to demonstrate your understanding and mastery of the updated Ontario Building Code, your HRAI certification will be valid until December 31, 2031.
Registrants will receive automatic access to a digital version of the Residential Ventilation using Section 9.32 of the NBC Manual. For those who prefer a hard copy, simply select the "Add Hard Copy Manual" option during registration.
