Jim Bolger – Owner - Waterloo Energy Products

Jim is an owner/ partner in Waterloo Energy Products & Mechanical.

Waterloo Energy serves a diverse client base to provide “Best Fit” HVAC Solutions for Energy Conservation, Efficiency, Climate Change Mitigation and Carbon Emissions reductions, for home and building owners across Ontario.

Through Waterloo Energy and previous businesses Jim has been involved with, and installed, over 3,500 Geothermal and Air Source Heat Pump Systems across Ontario since 2003.

Jim is past President on the Ontario Geothermal Association Board of Directors representing the Geothermal Industry in Advocacy, Education and Technology Awareness.

Jim has been directly involved in a consulting role with Governments at all levels and with NRCAN, in the development and formation of programs such as GreenON, Greener Homes & The Home Renovation Savings Program.

Jim has volunteered to speak or provide expertise on numerous occasions on panels, or at various events, to promote heat pump technology as an energy efficiency and carbon reductions tool to support climate change mitigation efforts.

Jim’s philosophy in business is to promote “carbon free” HVAC solutions for home or business owners whenever possible.

Diane Stanley-Horn – Community Advocate – GreenWR and Nith Valley Ecoboosters

Diane Stanley-Horn is a community advocate and volunteer focused on facilitating community action towards the clean energy transition. As part of her volunteer efforts with GreenWR and the Nith Valley Ecoboosters, she has spearheaded a residential retrofit project focused on heat pump adoption called GetpumpedWR.ca, a website that shares the experiences of homeowners in the Region that have installed heat pumps and provides a set of resources for others that are interested in switching to clean energy.

Diane is a former local entrepreneur and co-owner of Athena Software, creators of Penelope, a case management software application for social services used by 1000s of organizations around the globe.  Prior to being acquired in 2021, Athena was a gold pledging member of Sustainable Waterloo Region’s Regional Carbon Initiative. 

Diane has a background in psychology and environmental biology and was a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada scholar with publications in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.  She was a scientific researcher for over a decade prior to becoming an entrepreneur.  

She also owns multiple heat pumps and loves them.
